Sid Wilson: ‘I’m doing an EP with Fred Durst’

Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson has confirmed that he is working on a new project with Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst.

Wilson, who revealed all about his planned collaboration with Professor Green yesterday (March 26), told NME that he met up with Durst while on tour in Australia and has been recording with the singer in Florida at Young Money Cash Money studios.

Asked if he and Durst were indeed working together, as internet rumours suggested, Wilson replied: “Yeah, I’ve been hanging around with Fred. We did the Australian tour together and we just clicked instantly.”

He continued: “There was an instant connection when we got to talking. I went out to Florida to hang out with him and we went into the Cash Money, Young Money studios together to work on new music.”

Then asked what the collaboration would end up as, Wilson said: “I’m going to do an EP with Fred Durst. I don’t want to say too much, but it’s definitely part of this new, dirtier approach to music making I’m doing right now. It’s great to work with Fred, he understands the harder edge of the world that I’m into.”

Limp Bizkit, who are now to rapper Lil Wayne’s label Cash Money, have previously said that they are currently working on the “heaviest” and “most crazy metal record” ever.

Slipknot have just completed an Australian tour as part of the traveling Soundwave festival and will tour the US as headliner of Mayhem Festival this summer alongside Slayer, Motorhead, Anthrax and The Devil Wears Prada.

  1. Nah, this wasn’t what made Lethal pissed off. It’s just a colab for fuck sake, every musician does it sooner or later.

Lee knows how much Fred loves him. Lee’s having more and more inputs and musical touches than ever before in GC. Just think the whole deal with Lee is a big understanding, or hope so.

  2. Ok lets just set the fuckin record straight here ok. Sid and Leor are great close friends, and as stated Fred and Sid clicked on a musical length and in general on the Soundwave tour in Australia. (Fucking great show by the way guys!) This will be awesome! Cant wait!
